Keen readers will know that the gin chimps have a fondness for sherbet. We especially like Sherbet Lemons, and today we stumbled upon the Aldi Sugar-Free variety. Every few months we are allowed to Aldi without supervision, albeit on strict instructions not to buy anything from the middle isle. Whilst queuing at the checkout with our basket of nanas, we spotted the lemony treats and couldn’t resist. Our fur has been standing on end all day.
To round off our lemony day, we thought we’d try a snifter of Cleveland Way Gin from Saltburn-by-the-Sea in T’Yorkshire. Us tykes are not as bitter and sour as our reputation may have it, but this gin delivers a wonderful tart citrus hit.
7/10 – maybe more with a Sherbert Lemon chaser ?
