There is a trend in chimp-y circles to drink gin from bigger and bigger bowls. This is obviously so you can fit more gin in, but they can get so big that you can mistake them for other household items, such as fruit bowls, pot-pourri bowls etc.
Keen followers of the blog will have noticed that the chimps are very out of practice and that may explain what follows…. An chimp who shall remain nameless decided that their gin glass was indeed a pot-pourri bowl and filled it up with dried leaves!
It could be that it was a reaction to the rather indistinct Rock Rose Pink Grapefruit gin that was already in the glass. Whilst the chimps have a liking for pink grapefruit gins in general (with the Malfi Rosa being a particular favourite), there was little pink grapefruit punch coming through the tonic with the Rock Rose. Not something the chimps would recommend – with or without pot-pourri….
